Gratefulness In 2025

This interesting year of 2025 is quickly coming to an end. However, we have a few more weeks of celebrations ahead as we embrace the season of "The Holidays."

Looking back on holiday's past, many can express their stories of merriness and cheer, the sweet memories of caroling, the anticipation of savory foods, the craziness of office parties and celebrations with family and friends, and of course the grit and excitement that comes along with shopping.

This season will indeed be one of reflection. However, in the spirit of reflection comes the perfect opportunity to intentionally recall all of the things that you are grateful for in this present year.

Gratitude is not only commendable around the Thanksgiving dinner table, but it is a more far-reaching practice in providing wellness benefits that help reduce stress, depression, and anxiety overall.

Gratitude is a powerful human emotion that literally changes our brain structure. It increases dopamine production, and increases activity in the hypothalamus which is key in regulating emotions, stress, eating, drinking, body temperature regulation, and sleep cycles.

Our world has suffered unimaginable loss, set backs, and bad news this year. What is there to be grateful for? If you are able to read this blog right now, that means you are still alive. That has to be something worth smiling about!

Remind yourself of the importance of gratitude. Speak positively about your present situation, and most importantly realize that every day has its bright side no matter how dark it seems.

A challenge for you and your loved ones this year is to practice the ABC's of gratitude. Take each letter of the alphabet and discuss something that you are grateful for specifically this year.

What will your wellness journey look like for the remainder of 2025? The journey to higher health begins with you. Will you do it alone? Reach out to our team at Saloso Family Wellness to help guide you as you take the first steps towards embracing your present, so that you can begin smiling at the future.
